Lol, that used to happen in every race.
By the way I didn't know that Morkov could be so fast.

I thought Demare would hold on when he was led out into a great position but it was an impressive sprint by Degenkolb to jump him.

Degenkolb needs to shut his trap afterwards though.

Uh.. How so?

Just kidding. But I think he's kinda cool (that is not an objective argument, I know) and he's actually improved a lot this year (stage win at the Vuelta and 2nd today after doing a lot of work in the final).

Oh yeah, sure, he's been doing well. It was just the "beast" part of it I didn't understand, especially since he didn't quite have it on the last hill :D

yeh, far too early, took the role of the last lead out man for Degenkolb

Degenkolb said something about the incident with the Belkin guys on his website btw (in german, I just did a quick translation):

[...] I am a bit annoyed about the riding style of some of the Belkin guys though. When Jetse Bol was out in front again and again they tried to disturb our chase. In principle there's nothing to maon about trying to get into the opponent's train, keeping the tempo down or getting through a corner more slowly. It's also not that I never make use of my elbows myself. But disturbing the chase in a way that nearly makes you crash is unsportmanlike. There's no need to do something like that, especially not in the last race of the season, when everyone is looking forward to have some holiday already. Many things can happen in the heat of the moment, but you should expect everyone to be able to say sorry afterwards. It did not happen so far. That's sad.

An old saying suits Degenkolb's reaction: If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

So... If anyone mind me poking sticks in their wheels, they should abandon?

Degenkolb has no cycling culture.

Chase disruption is part of the race and has always been until cycling's "darkest period" when sprinters were kings (1997-2010). Cycling isn't a sport for pussies, right?

I was glad to see that back. I guess Verhoeven and Maassen know how to do it. I especially liked the way a Belkin rider took the lead of the peloton just before a turn, in order to slow down the pace. Lovely. If this aspect of cycling comes back, and the Nijdamesque "kilometer flight" comes back we are in for some pretty great years, now. :)

As written above somewhere, disturbing the chase was not the issue.

Crying about it like a baby is.

;)

It's not easy being Degenkolb if he truly feel that Belkin endangered people he would be a coward if he didn't speak out, now he's accused of baby-like behavior.

I thought it was fun to watch and to me it didn't look more dangerous than what normally goes on leading up to a sprint finish, but i wasn't in the peloton( a shock i know! i'll have to have a talk with my agent about that) so i'm not entirely able to rule out that Degekolb might have a point.
