Tired of playing these online cycling games that hurt your eyes and are bug-ridden?

Since a few months, Peloton is back online. Peloton is a free online cycling manager game and pretty much the best one available. It has a decent layout, no bugs (no big ones anyway :p), many (original) features, lots of details, a dedicated community and active developers.

The game contains 79 different races and 13 different tours. A season lasts about 15 weeks, so almost every day there is a race.

Peloton also has some unique features:
- Contract negotiations: dynamic negotiations with your cyclists about their wage, bonuses, contract length and so on.
- Race calculations take many details into account. The cyclist with the best skills isn't guaranteed to win. How happy is he? How did he perform in previous races? Does he have enough teammembers to put him out the wind?
- Funraces: out-of-competition races where you can compete against your friends for victory and glory.
- Coming soon: a brand new race engine with more tactical options and live race reports!

Despite all these details and features, Peloton was still created with both casual as 'hardcore' users in mind. So you decide yourself how much time you want to spend on this game without compromising the performance of your team. But naturally, the more you play it, the better you become ;)

There is also a very active forum, where players and developers discuss the game and possible new features together.

Have you heard of the 2012 CQ Ranking Manager game? Are you going to sign up a team? :p

As a hardcore online manager gaming geek I've obviously tried peloton-game a few years back. I can't say that I enjoyed it though :(

I'd much rather recommend velo-manager.com (which have been advertised in this forum as well) or especially cyclingforfun.org (where there's a new season coming up with sign up in a week).

But at least the game play varies from game to game, peloton-game just didn't appeal to me for some reason.

Well, over the years, Peloton has changed a lot. For example the contract negotiations were completely reviewed, they are now like a real conversation between you and the cyclist and it works really well.

Another big difference now is also that the competitions aren't divided per country anymore. Instead, all nations play in the same 'World' competition. So there's more activity guaranteed for all new teams.

So if you didn't like it then, you might enjoy it now :)
