Overwhelming consensus not to be victimized by CycleTV, can't CN get invlolved and stream the races? Universal Sports broadcasted live the Giro and several of the classics. I'd be willing to give half my paycheck to watch the races on your site.
If this has been covered before, please don't lambast me with the "Little Johnny's thread starter $hyt stirrer" stickie. Just agree with me and lend some weight to the plea.

Absolutely agree. It is sad to see the promise of cycling.tv turn out to be a scam.

If anyone at cyclingnews.com wants to know how to do it PM me, streaming media is a big part of my job.

How many streaming sites actually turn a profit these days? Most of them look like a gaping hole that money is poured into in the hope that the business will be well positioned when streaming eventually pays off.

I suspect that the reason why cyclingtv sucks is that they are struggling financially. If they were making money then they would have the resources to fix the problems with their service.

Its not so long ago when CN put up the first Australian race on live.

It was primative but easy enough I stood under the PA system at the Bay Classic while Phill Ligget called the race. Jeff Jones called me from Sydney
I answered my mobile and that was it . Simple
So why cant we do it with vidio. All Jeff had to do was type very fast

I too, often sit here pondering how much I would pay to watch live cycling. Maybe not quite half my pay packet, but it would certainly be a fair amount.
I haven't tried watching cycling.tv for at least a year, but when it worked for me (in the short time it did), I loved nothing better than chilling out and watching the spring classics, glass of wine in hand.
What's the latest with them? Still cr@ppy feed, cr@ppy customer service, and still charging your credit card for another years subscription without asking, for a blank screen with occassional commentary and freeze frames? Is this the scam you refer to Race Radio? Or have they somehow gotten worse?

I believe the problem is the licensing fees to show the races are ridiculous. In fact, the fees are so extreme as to make it virtually impossible to make a profit unless you are also a TV network and can subsidize the online by TV ad revenue.
