Points for all

Since points are a major determiner of team eligibility all team members should get points for their work--ie Stu O'grady, Jens Voigt, Lars Bak, Bernie Eisel: their contribution is undeniable yet they get no points! (Ignor their own wins for this discussion).

Points:Olympics, worlds, stage race invitations.
How in heck did a team sport evolve so major races give teams unfair numbers from the start? Regardless of points system all teams should start with same numbers determined by each nation. Team maybe 4 elite pros and 2 continental riders and 3 under 23 licensed riders. STOP the point madness.

Good luck finding 8 decent cyclists of each country. That's why not every country gets to start with the same number. We don't need amateurs at the Worlds.

As for the Olympics, there's a maximum number of athletes that are allowed to participate in a specific sport. That's why the biggest teams only consist of 5 cyclists and some countries even less depending on who qualified for the Olympics.

That's also the reason why they had to scratch some male track events because they felt that women deserved to compete for the olympics as well in track cycling
