Which victory in 2011 has been Leopard Trek Biggest?

I must say that before the season began, I thought they would have bigger victories, and even though the season is not over, I really cannot see them win anything bigger, then what they already have won.

Did they actually win something

No I joke, but imo E3, and Andy's victory on Galibier where the most beautiful ones

They failed at every goal they set. That may sound harsh as they came very close in just about everyone and considering what their goals were for this season, that was a very good effort.

E3 for sure, what does it matter when you win a Tour stage (even a queen stage) but end up second overall third time in a row
edit: yet again, imo Galibier was a stage where Evans actually won the Tour.

harelbeke.it was just crazy.
but andy's raid in the alps was awesome too with all the guys chasing wondering how on earth he puts time on the flat.it was precious.
and klemme's victory in samyn was good because at that time,it seemed that they won't win anything.

Klemme's win was great because it was his personal first, first for the team and no one expected it. Also it looked like he wasn't going to stay away but somehow he managed.

Two other nice wins were the Vuelta TTT because it was also quite inexpected and Bennati's win in Vittoria. It was nice to see him take it after so many injuries and coming close countless times. Tactically speaking it was also well thought out.

I didn't see Harelbeke so I can't judge on that. Andy's great escape will go down in history.

Surely not many wins but still they are second in in current CQ rankings. I don't know about official UCI ranking but I imagine they must be pretty high up there too. They were competitive pretty much all season long and consistently one of the best teams. I hope Fuglsang or Monfort can podium in Lombardy, then it would be 6 podiums in 5 monuments (Sky 1 podium in 2 years so far IINM ;) )

/edit: Another nice one was young sprinter Giacomo Nizzolo winning in Bayern, beating Degenkolb and B. Hagen

It was. Everyone was wondering whether Cancellara would be as good as 2010, and he showed them.
Problem for him, he was too good to win either of the two big prizes afterwards, as nobody underestimated him - on the contrary.

Geez, is that list genuinely their best? What a pathetic 1 year experiment that's been. It's almost like a magic machine that takes great input and turns it to...

Kinda like Sky's first year huh.

Well Sky you could have had

a) Omloop Het Neiuwsblad
b) Giro Stage 1
c) Stage 1 Paris Nice
d) Stage 7 Tirreno Adriatico
e) Stage 7 Dauphine
f) Cancer council classic

Personally I'd go for Downing in the Criterium International.

I'd go for Wiggins at the Giro with him acting as if he was drunk lol.

Only an effort like Andys on Galibier could surpass what Canc did at e3.

Canc at RVV was their most impressive performance though. Id rate it as 2nd to Contador Giro for performance of the year.

Good idea for a thread. But let's wait till after Lombardia first :p

E3 Prijs Vlaanderen was one of my favorite one day races though. The Great Divergence is the best name to describe that race.

He was insanely strong that day. Performance of the year? That's one for another thread, but both Andy's and Fabian's would feature strongly.

Anyway, when judging LT's year, we also need to take into account that day in early May. There's no way of telling just what sort of an impact that had on them, though.

In my opinion Cancellara at E3 is the single most impressive performance of the year. He could literally ride people off his wheel on the flat. I kinda feel sorry for him for not getting a monument this season, it's just wrong when he was the strongest rider on the cobbles by a country mile. Too bad his chances were screwed by having one of the worst teams ever given to a defending champion.

The 3 most important for them would be E3 ( WT next year) , the TTT at the Vuelta and Andys' win at Galibier, ( even though Cadel won the TDF because none cracked him ). Voted for TDF because it shows Andys' talent.

An idea is that the Criterium international win from Frank is that he can improve and still be competitive in a whole season. I would laugh if he goes better with JB next year than Andy. Their loss at LBL spoke volumes as well.

From Gerrans or Flecha???

How come everyone is comparing Skys' 1st year to Leopards' first year. Leopard have great riders but not as strong a team as Sky. They also both could not get a winner on the podium but got 2nd and 3rd at GT's. And in both cases 2nd worked for the 3rd rider until they realised they were the better chance.

Granted I am mostly just a GT fan, but surely 2nd and 3rd at the Tdf followed by 6th and 11th at the Vuelta (with both riders within 6 minutes of Cobo) is pretty impressive? It's not all about winning, right?

Andy's win on stage 18 was awesome, and Cancerella (though now surpassed by Martin as the worlds best time trialler) still had numerous victories I think (Tour of Swiss ITT comes to mind).
