Quote Geelong independant 27th Aug 2010

The organisers have been warned the World Cup may have to change course
if the rain we have had recently persists next month.

It is possible that the Barwon River will flood some parts of the course and taking out some of the challenge such as the two big hills.

Geelong has had the wettest August for the past 11 years and looks to continue for next week at least.

Just call off the race and send Cav the jersey then.

Better pray for rain then shorten the course and make it easy.

One thing if it rains it will keep the Canola flowers from causing havoc the polen it deadly if you are not used to it so is the wattle blosson but that will be done by end of September.

They look nice all in flower in the feild Cough-cough splutt -splutt-just as long as the polen stays in the flowers.

We have heaps of Red back spiders this year also so watch out when you go to the loo.

David Brailsford and the rest of British Cycling are currently rigorously testing the world's best rain dancers.

The tests, which are being held at their base in Manchester, have so far been a great success. "They all seem to make it rain", said Brailsford.

Don't read too much into the story, this is a contingency plan for near disaster type rain falls, just so they aren't planning at the last moment if things go pear shaped.
