Powertap hub for MTB

I'd like to use a Cycleops Powertap comp hub on my mountain bike. I know that this hub is intended for road use. I am wondering if anyone has changed the axle spacing on this type of hub (130mm to 135mm) to fit a Mountain bike frame.
I also know that Cycleops makes a hub specific for mountain bikes but it is 3 times more expensive than the Comp hub.
Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

You can change the axle width, but you're not going to be able to use a disc brake. And you're exaggerating the price a wee...it's more like twice, but significantly lighter, you don't have to worry about wires, etc, and it looks like it now comes with the Joule.

Yeah, Thank you Dave. I called Cycleops and they have end caps to do the job. As for the price, It's possible that I exagerate some but I can get a comp hub only for $449 while the cheapest SL+ pack for MTB runs around $1300. Let's say that it is between 2 to 3 times more expensive.
