Prometheus (Alien prequel)

In case there are any fans of the Alien series (the first couple films anyway), the first teaser trailer for the prequel, Prometheus is out. Watch it here. Directly by Ridley Scott, it's not entirely a prequel, it reportedly takes place in the "Alien universe", before the first Alien film. But fans of the series will see elements from the first Alien film in this trailer.

I can't help but think the impetus for this was diehard geek fan James Morris asking James Cameron to save us from the godawful AVP films, and Cameron's very direct answer. Watch here (very short clip). This prompted a fan to press Ridley Scott on this issue, and Scott's response had to have put a seed in the minds of many. (Short clip here.)

Looking forward to it.
Somehow didn't like the episodes after "Aliens". Not too hard I guess.
Anyway, I became a big fan of Giger.
In a former residence of mine, a friend and very good painter painted a whole wall with an Alien motif done by Giger.
It was stunning. But later, when I moved, we totally failed in carefully peeling of the painted wallpapers to take it to the new residence.

That AvP movie, well, I watched it, but saw it as an insult for both parties.
That love scene at the end....man....I was so much insulted.

But the AvP game for Atari Jaguar was really a great thing. You totally got THE feeling. Anyway, it turned out that that console was not really accepted.
It was the only game I bought for this console, but believe me, it was worth it.
You could chosse between playing an Alien, Marine or Predator, and it included the original sounds and effects.

Marine:
Pock....pock....pock....Ding.......ding.......ding....ding...ding..ding.ding.....wahhhhhhhh

Predator:
changing the views and hiding....wosh...wosh...wosh

For me this was a highlight of gaming history. But of course people/kids are more demanding now.
