I have been noticing that there have been many "predicting tdf team" threads so I think a general thread would be a smarter idea.

My tdf team for BMC would be

Evans
Santaromita
Hincapie
Burghardt
Quinziato
Moinard
Morabito
Bookwalter
Santambrogio

Predict and discuss away...

You have Quinziato twice. I would think Johan Tschopp will make the team based on his Giro performance last year to support Cadel in the mountains, and not sure Santanbrogio adds anything to the team that the other 'classics' guys dont already have covered so maybe another mountain man (if BMC have any other decent mountain men) otherwise slot in Brookwater and try and make the most of the TTT where a strong BMC team could get some decent time on GC competitors with weak TTT's like Samu.

Omega Pharma Lotto

Greipel
Hansen
Sieberg
Dockx
Gilbert
Van den Broeck
Aerts
de Greef/Bakelants
Lang

A bit of a packed team, with Greipel for the sprints, van den Broeck for the overall and Gilbert for the early uphill finishes. It could quite easily be Greipel +3, van den Broeck +3 and Gilbert. Lloyd would be a good helper for VDB but he is being aimed at the Giro so maybe he will sit this one out. I have Lang in there as VDB's main helper on the flat stages with Aerts and either de Greef or Bakelants to take over in the mountains. Dockx could be replaced by Reynes or Roelandts.

Hardly their worst climber.

Santaromita and Quinziato will hold their own in the TTT coming from the 'gas train.

Evans
Santaromita
Hincapie
Burghardt
Quinziato
Moinard
Morabito
Santambrogio
Van Avermaet/Phinney

I was looking at HTC a while back and came up with something like this:

Cavendish
Renshaw
Eisel
Martin
Grabsch
P. Velits
Siutsou
Albasini
Pinotti/Van Garderen

Depends if Pinotti wants to back up after a tough Giro where he is probably going for high GC again - I doubt it. Van Garderen, well I'd like to see him attack a good placing in the Vuelta, but would be part of the strongest team. After that your only real options are M. Velits, Goss and Roulston.

Agreed but Van avermaet is doing the vuelta not the tour this year.

Would you have Tschopp then?

The problem is there are a lot of solid climbers but no real top20 climbers to be alongside Evans when it counts. Maybe they could all survive to the base of the final climbs and dish out some punishment. Tschopp is another one of those... when it comes down to it the TTT may be more vital.

Steve Morabito might be able to ride a top 20 overall. His 4th placing in the tour de suisse last year was a strong result.

BMC also have Moinard and Santaromita. Santambrogio is decent enough climber. Hincapie is handy in the mountains. I wasn't sure who to choose between Burghardt and Kroon. What do you all think? I think Tschopp would be better to do the giro. There are already enough riders that fit his mould in my proposed team. Tschopp may do the giro and/or la vuelta.

Gilbert can also lead out Greipel, or help VDB on the flat. Did both already in the past.
VDB should have more help in the mountains. 3 out of these: Lloyd, Aerts, De Greef, Bakelants. Plus Lang and Gilbert for the early parts/flat stages.

Saxo bank tour lineup. M. Mørkøv, B. Vandborg and Tossatto are probably the most unlikely. Both Danes are good time triallers though. More than you cans say about the Spanish clan. I guess it will depend on how much weight is put on the TTT, whether Riis will take the Danish guys or the Spanish guys. Porte, Larsson, 2 x Sørensen and Contador are on the team for sure. N. Sørensen as capitaine de la route and Contador as captain.

Good team for the mountains with the Spaniards, C.A. Sørensen, Contador and Porte. For the flats? I am not that convinced, allthough N. Sørensen and Larsson are strong as hell. Perhaps they will need one more guy. Tossatto, Vandborg or Mørkøv. Tossatto has ridden numerous tours, Vandborg only 2 and Mørkøv 0. Luke Roberts, Nuyens or Cooke could be in the mix as well, but I concider it unlikely.

Contador
Gustav Larsson
C.A. Sørensen
N. Sørensen
B. Vandborg
M. Mørkøv
B. Noval
J. Hernandez
D. Navarro
R. Porte
Tossatto

According to Brian Holm (DS), you could throw the two Danes Lars Bak and Alex Rasmussen in there as well.

Agreed, Bak might be one for the last spot. It's a bit of a question of how many engines do they want?

I like Rasmussen, but has he even ridden a GT?

For your Saxo team the last spot (after Contador, Porte, Navarro, Noval, Hernandez, Chris Anker, Nicki, Larsson) I'd say Tosatto... Hernandez would be the most likely of the Spanish clan to miss out? Roberts or Morkov could come in to sure up the TTT.

So if AC gets pulled before the tour, do all 3 Spaniards still make the team? My guess is they drop at least one and throw in another stage chaser.

I'll be interested to see how Sky forms their team.

Euskaltel Euskadi:

Samuel Sánchez
Egoi Martínez
Mikel Nieve
Rubén Pérez
Amets Txurruka
Iñaki Isasi
Gorka Verdugo
Alan Pérez
Iván Velasco

Similar to last year's line-up, with Igor Antón going FTW at the Vuelta, having come off the Giro and Romain Sicard making his GT debut at the Vuelta. I could see Pierre Cazaux come in as the token French man. You can also expect Rubén Pérez and Txurruka to be in 55 breakaways each in the Tour.

I'm guessing the Liquigas team might look something like this:

Basso
Szmyd
Cappechi
Oss
Bellotti
Ted King

One of the big reasons that Feilu jumped ship from Vacansoleil was that he really wanted to ride the tour again. I don't know if any actual agreement was made, but I think he'll be on the team. He'll be good support in the mountains aside from the fact that it's his priority for the season.
