Race Radio Appreciation Thread...

I believe I speak for many here in the Clinic that we (except the pro-Armstrong tolls) are glad to have you back posting useful and pertinent information.

The site has been bereft of this sort of info for a while. Mods need to take notice that it's more important to cut the heads off the trolls than to have them run rampant on this site, pushing people like Race Radio away.

I never wanted to set up a Twitter account, but I had to so I could ask RR a few questions.

And lo and behold, the first person to sign up to follow my tweets was someone named Grace Pettway from Hardcore Orgy. Nice. I don't need idiots like this in my life, and hopefully if RR is back I can just cancel that stupid account.

As I was writing this in the Clinic, I decided this would be a better place for such a thread. Then I read the most dastardly crap I've read on this site I've ever read.

Joe Papp sold Race Radio's and another poster's identity information to Armstrong's attorney...and he wasn't banned.

I have no words for how despicable this situation is.

Having said that, the least the mods can do is ban Polish for life. I'm going to say this as directly and forcefully as I can, because being ndiplomatic and politically correct doesn't seem to have an affect-

Polish has never posted an informative post of any substance ever. He is worse than useless. He exists for one thing only-to make a mockery of the very reasons you mods have protected him for so long.

Regardless of how heavy-handed banning him and others like him may seem to you mods, it seems as if you would prefer having him back with his inane drivel than to keep someone like Race Radio, who let's face it, is the driving force of information in the Clinic.

Have any of you read what the Clinic was like while he was gone?

I rest my case.

I hope RR is back for good. Someone with the integrity and intestinal fortitude to put himself in the line of fire should be respected for his efforts.

Do the right thing, mods. Y'all messed up big-time with the Joe Papp situation, here's a chance to redeem yourselves. Get rid of these trolls without letting them make 550 some-odd idiotic posts in the span of two months like y'all let Laura Lynn do.

Do it also for Barrus and D-Queued, who felt so strongly about the situation he quit as a moderator.

Does that not tell you people who own and administer this site anything?

Here here. BTW I suspect LauraLyn posted most of those 550 posts in two weeks. Even on ignore it made the Armstrong and Mike threads almost unreadable. There was so much complaining going on, surely some flags must have been raised?

Anyway, please Race Radio don't let the inmates of the asylum get you down, its the denizens of the clinic that matter. And they are with you.

I don't make the connection between the Papp situation and those who troll the forum. Asking the mods to toughen up on trolls because they and/or CN management dropped the ball by not banning Papp doesn't fix the problem. What Papp did so obviously requires a permanent ban, which isn't happening, so the better solution is for the rest of the forum to treat him as persona non grata. Polish, the numerous ill personalities of BPC, et al, are a separate matter and the mods know how to handle them, albeit sometimes not at a pace that satisfies the masses. That ain't the road to redemption.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. Certainly been a weird few days.....not a fan of weirdness or drama.

Unfortunately the next few months will be craptastic. The mix of politics, sport, corruption, and desperation will make this a very lively place.....and a target for disruption. Luckily the element that fuels that disruption will gradually sink into irrelevancy.

The sport needs a place where off the bike elements can be discussed. We saw that clearly today with the UCI going after Kimmage. Hopefully this place will evolve into a platform for that discussion.

I would like to add to this post from RR that we minimize the reflex of attacking other forumites without tempering our thoughts, which ultimately harms our credibility here for uniting our missions and discussions.

Can we move past Polish , etc, and not jump out at specific posters all the time?... Rather as RR says, we need a place where we can discuss.

Much of the 'trolling' can be ignored...
Maybe we can work with our mods a bit before issues grow out of control.
Most of us just want to head in a positive direction.

Dude, you're trying to knock out half of my posts with that...dang. Tough crowd.:D

As to RR, he is and always has been one of the most valuable posters here. Hope he keeps posting good info.

RR: this has been weird. I'm not into being a twit...or twittering as this is the rare forum I've seen so we haven't kept up. Based on notes we've shared it will get weirder and I've had confirmations that there is testimony that begins earlier than USPS; as we all suspected.

For the others casting Polish and other contrarians into the same trollnet as BPC and LauraL; know the difference between nose-tweaking satire and direct attempts to control an informational discourse. Many, maybe all of us, take themselves too seriously as authorities and an occasion reminder of our pompous self-assured attitudes being too convenient is a good thing. We are still talking about a sport after all.

Much of the trolling can be ignored but should be reported. the more reports about trolling the better.

As RR says there will no doubt be a plague of them arriving to obfuscate the threads.

I'm glad your back, the clinic was useless without you around. I'm curious since it now seems from posts that you and Dan had some kind of an "off line" relationship, did they ask you to come back or did you come back on your own? You brought a lot of clicks to this place as I noted in "this forum blows", seemed foolish to let you walk.

Glad RR is back! I really respect that he doesn't waste my time when I read his to-the-point posts. Although I wish he didn't turn the blid eye on Sky when it's apparent those guys have, perhaps, the most sophisticated doping program ever.

Thanks

I have never met Dan, or any of the CN staff. This lack of connection can lead to few snippy messages, with 140 character limits, escalates any disagreement. Add to this the fact I live on planes, hotel rooms, in a perpetual state of jet lag. It makes it easy for me to disconnect and not resolve this in a timely manner.

LauraLyn, seems to me, was a very effective intentional attempt to disrupt discussion.

Welcome back, RR. This is definitely better than twitter-only.

+1Million!! Sooo glad I don't have to frequent twitter to piece together 150 characters to figure out the picture. Now RR is back, we'll get it in nice plain English. (See the What's for Johan now? thread!) :)

Just as a point of clarification, I noticed that Polish's sockpuppet was banned, does this mean that Polish is now perma-banned?
