Landa seems to have more talent than Aru tbh.

Multiple years? Contador is gone after 2016 and surely Majka will get to lead a GT next year regardless.

The question is which GT. I am not sure if Majka and Aru are that similar. Aru seems more explosive, Majka likes gradual climbs, not sure what Fabio's preference is with weather but Rafal likes warm and dry weather. Basically, TdF without too much flat TT kms is the perfect race for him.

And I hope that Contador is gone by then but if he doesn't win TdF in next 2 seasons he might be tempted to stay longer

Who is this spectacular GT winning Mijka you all speak of who is so similar to Aru.......Aru who podiumed in the Giro and was behind Contador/Froome/Valverde/Purito in the Vuelta last year ..Aru who this year podiumed in the Giro & won 2 stages ahead of Contador ????

What about Landa, Uran, Henao, Quintana, Pinot, Barguil, Yeates twins (2 of them) , Allaphillipe, Betencur, Kelderman, Mollema,....these guys will be around for a long time yet for GTs

You forgot Romain Bardet and potentially Esteban Chavez.

Majka, Pinot and Aru seem on par to me. It would be very interesting if they all targeted the same GT.

they did last year and Aru beat the **** out of majka
They didn't all of them. Pinot didn't ride the Giro.

You're right though that Aru did beat Majka with quite a margin. However, Majka actually held his own pretty well until the third week. In fact, he was 1'45 ahead of Aru before entering the third week where he apparently got sick and he had even beaten Aru on the mountain top finishes thus far. Of course sickness is part of the game and in the end, Aru certainly did beat Majka pretty soundly, but I do think that they are pretty evenly matched.

To be fair. The only big difference in the Giro last year between Majka and Aru was the MTT, where Aru gained more than three minutes. Majka had serious stomach issues in the last week (the worse just the day before the MTT). If you don't count that day (I know, it is "what if", but still) they would finish on basically the same time.

Didn't you read any posts about him being sick the last week?

Why don't you bring up the results form earlier in the race. It's so clear to see that he didn't had the same level in the whole last week due to illness. I really can't understand that people like you can't see it.

Aru is definitely more exciting to watch. But I still think they're pretty even.

You see, circumstances differ. Besides, Majka is better looking than Aru but that means just as much as being exciting.
True, but that's only due to Aru looking very very bad on a bike. Majka's style is average, if you were to evaluate it in terms of elegance. And it doesn't change the fact that, when riding for GC (!), Aru is a bit more exciting (He's also a far lot dumber) than Majka.

In an interview with Majka himself, Rafal said that his leg hurt, first week was hard but he thinks he is in very good shape and can't wait for the moment when he gets to tear the race apart uphill. Dissapointed that he wont be able to go for stages but understands his role. Prefers Alps rather than Pyrenees
Thinks Alberto is strong and determined. Won't give up leadership in Vuelta in any case, will ride at least as co-leader.

Nice win!You can count on Majka to deliver when it really matter.

Lol, Aru got his 2nd place in the Giro, in the Vuelta Landa will be unleashed! Only Majka Monster can stop him

He's not the leader man :( See the posts in his thread.
In the Vuelta team tactics won't be so important. He'll beat Aru there.

Anyway, I certainly think Majka will be able to beat both Piti and Purito, so it depends if Froome really goes for it as well, if Majka will contend for the win.

And they did a year before and the result was much different.
