There is a very tight battle going on for the red lantern, with 7 riders currently within 3 minutes from each other. Yesterday, Boeckmans moved down to fourth by losing another 15 seconds to the rest. Who will take it?

The current situation:
173 Jerome Cousin (Fra) Team Europcar 2:54:44
174 Tom Veelers (Ned) Team Argos-Shimano 2:54:49
175 Jonathan Hivert (Fra) Sojasun 2:55:12
176 Kris Boeckmans (Bel) Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team 2:55:13
177 Assan Bazayev (Kaz) Astana Pro Team 2:55:48
178 Dmitriy Muravyev (Kaz) Astana Pro Team 2:56:40
179 Svein Tuft (Can) Orica-GreenEdge 2:57:30

Tuft is a better climber than that. He simply lost a lot of time on the flat stage because he took huge pulls on the front and then sat up.

Kittel, currently 172nd. He will be like a dying phoenix...disintegrating, falling apart, and cracking like Wiggins in the Giro...in the mountains.

I voted Muravyev. Hivert was ill on the day to Ventoux which is where he lost a 1/3rd of his time but believe he is a bit better now.

A couple of years back there was an interview with Vansevenant. Being 3 times winner he talked about what is needed to win first place.

Motivation: Personally i think Vino will exucute any Astana rider who is in last place on purpose. Maybe Sven Tuft wants the price but my guess Chris Boeckmans got more motivation.

stay in the bus: it is not about gaining time 1 stage by doing a 100km tt. The red lantern is only decided in Paris. So you can win time one stage but next stage you will probally be out of the time limit.
- Veelers already lost contact with the peloton once so he might not finish in Paris.

I voted for Boeckmans. Motivation and he is a good poor climber.

Voted Muravyev. He had some problems earlier but really wants to finish the race. Tuft is better, but I don't see Muravyev jumping anybody (unless Boeckmans really wants it).
