Di Gregorio and to a lesser extent Brice Feillu. Feillu showed great promise with his TdF stage win but after that has had problems, but seems to be making a bit of a comeback.

Di Gregorio was greatly touted to be the next French TdF winner and showed great climbing promise in Catalunya in that mountain time trial in his first year as a pro. He has had some decent results like a Paris-Nice stage win but hasn't certainly lived up to the expectations. Veikkanen who was his team mate at FDJ said that he's a bit lazy, especially during off-season and that has hindered his career.

Though Tanel kangert just took his first pro win in Tour de Suisse, he can be added to this list. He was one of the best juniors in the world, won almost everything in France amateur scene. In Estonia he was touted as biggest talent. But in 2008 after he joined AGR2 his troubles started. Injured, ill, bot of his knees were operated, he skipped 2009 year, dropped out of pro ranks, he even said that his cycling career is over. In 2010 he started to race again amateur races, knees started to heel, he got few wins and then returned to pro ranks. We´ll see what happens next.

The title is Riders who have not fulfilled expectations. Kangert is fulfilling his expectations.

It depends what were expectations. If I now look back his junior results and see that he was TTing neck on neck with Boasson Hagen, then well... Anyway, at least here expectations were higher before injuries srewed him up.

What I meant is that he is still improving and he is on his way to fulfill his expectations even the lofty ones which he had before his injuries.
Very possibly that is so, you cant say he isnt going to fulfill expectations where he is improving, especially when he has made a very impressive leap this season and his form since the Giro has been superb.

But why should he???
LBL and le tour are way bigger than all those stage races.
Its not always about the quantity of wins but the quality.

No its not, but its matter of ride some races, get some hair on your...chest, and harden up. He needs to get out there, be competitive, show some motivation and want to win races besides the tour, if he did that he would also get stronger and probably whine less when things get difficult.

Did anyone named Pozzato?

Bear in mind that lots of folks ride really well during their junior years; Then get husky as a result of taking lots of weird stuff, suddenly can't climb.....So they take the antidote to the stuff they started up with....Then they burn out. Bio-Passport notwhistanding!!!
