Not really, it's just unfortunate that Iberian cycling has a very chequered recent history from the grass roots up. From a progressive financial point of view it's an easy commercial decision to bypass a questionable commodity. Until there's an estabished proven track record of clean winning from Portuguese and Spanish teams the big teams are going to look elsewhere. It's for the good of the sport long term.
 
Glad to see this thread is cooling down:) The men finished 25th in Lombardia. Solid but not world shattering. I expect to pick up a few more wins with his fine tactical sense next year and maybe become a 2nd tier contender for the big classics like AGR, GdL, LBL and maybe MSR.

So what do you think: where the climbs to hard and long for him (I think this was the case) or he just didn't have it today?
