Having always been a fan of the enthusiasm shown by Basque countrymen and women towards their fellow cyclists, I'm pleased to see that Bretagne (Brittany for you anglophones) has stepped up to deliver an interesting mix of riders who hold great promise for their cycling crazy citizens (you know, the ones waving those distinct black and white flags along the route?

Having lived and ridden there for 3 years of my life, I'm VERY pleased!

I understand its a fantastic area for cycling and support of racing. Isn't it celtic?

Yes.

Two branches of Celtic - Goidelic (Scots Gaelic, Irish Gaelic, Manx) and Brythonic (Welsh, Cornish, Bréton).

Hence the strong regional identity, and influence of what Euskaltel has been able to do.
