With my Union Jack - tinted sunglasses firmly placed on my face, I award the ride of the day to Super G-eraint Thomas the Tank Engine. He was at the front all day, pulling for Flecha, marking moves, and generally being a beast. If he hadn't worked to bring the race back together in the finale Nuyens might not even have been up there for the win.

Ride of the day obviously goes to the surprise winner:)

Others who impressed: Chavanel, Scheirlinckx, Thomas.

BMC rode really well as a team.

Lots of people tried things and took chances. Great race.

Garmin terrible again.

****, forgot to make it so that we can see who goes where. That should be the default option imo.

Anyway Cancellara for me by a mile. He was into the wind the whole time, then ater cracking intiated the winning move.

Without him Nuyens would not have won and Chavannel would not have podiumed. ITs that simple

Despite being a big Cancellara fan, I have to give this to Chavanel. What a great race!

Chavanel, basically rode a 60 km TT on front of the peloton and on Cancellara's wheel and that all in a serving role for Boonen. Shame he got 2nd..

Cancellara was the strongest and sympathy prices go out to BMC/Ballan, Chavanel and Sheirlinckx

Chavanel for exceeding expectations, but I hats off to both he and Cancellara for their ride. But I will say this, Nuyens earned that win. He may not have been a protagonist all day, but he was there and went with the right moves at the right time.

For me, Chavanel was amazing. I didn't expect him to do what he did.

Cancellara was brilliant also.
Spartagus did what everyone expected, Sylvian was spectacular.

Well for me Cancellara was the top favourite for this race whilst Chavanel was an outsider at best. I just think looking at their respective talents, Chavanel was amazing today, yes he was working for Boonen but it would have been very interesting if Boonen had not attacked when Chav had over a minute. That was stupidity of the highest order. So despite getting kinda screwed over by Boonen he was still in at the finish which is impressive.

Van avermaet doesn't get a mention? he was brilliant today!

There were a lot of guys like van avermaet being very active... Langeveld went a number of times. Flecha tried. Leukemans tried a few times. Boonen was warrior like. The guys mentioned above were something else tho. I think GT more so because of his young age is getting huge props.
