No live coverage once again :(

I don't understand that. Fine, have more Italian teams in so that it's more of a national race and in tune with its history, but why not show it live?

Oh well. Hopefully someone will torrent the highlights next week.

One of the best races of the Year??
I think so.
Flying to Pisa on tomorrow night, whoop.

Hmm maybe, the first time I read that I only thought it was live audio only. Weird if they are producing live coverage but Rai isn't showing it.

I checked my EPG for Eurosport (International), they are only showing an hour replay sometime on Wednesday, and yeh, can't see it anywhere on the Rai program guide.

Worst case scenario seems like live coverage on gazzetta, but geo-restricted.

it was live on gazetta last year unrestricted and then they showed the footage very shortly after the race on RaiTre

We are away this weekend so are going to miss it, will be downloading the torrent on sunday night and watching it though. :D

and yes, its called Montepaschi Strade Bianche

Hmm, none of us were watching if that was the case! (All crying in the thread last year).

then maybe i dreamt it :D there were so many races last year. in which case it was on rai tre very soon after the race. Just checked the logs and i had the full highlights online by about 8pm uk.

for those not familiar with the race you can watch the entire 50 minute highlights package from last year here> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OG0VCFCj04

The CN preview. I like this part: "Filippo Pozzato will lead a strong Katusha line-up, in which he could be complemented by former winner Alexandr Kolobnev and the Danilo Di Luca."(c) :D

We had this conversation last year. First there was live coverage, then there was not.
MyP2P has it scheduled as live and I too have read that the source is Gazetto's live feed only.
If that is true, it should be unrestricted, unlike if it was on RAITRE or Sport 2.
I remember they had the helicopter up last year, which they never do when showing RAI highlights.
I'm not really bothered, as RS 2 has an hour scheduled for half 6 GMT.

The RaiSport2 highlights start 19:30 CET & I'll try out my new tech to capture it - for non geo-locates. cross-fingers.

Give this a go. http://www.jaksta.com/ if you get stuck. ive yet to find anything it wont rip, and ive even managed to rip things through a proxy as well.

Have to say I lost some interest in this race after the race organizers basically decided not to invite any of the teams that had non-italian guys in the top 10 the last 2 years.

That's dissapointing indeed, but it can't take away my eagerness to watch this race :)

yep, they should have invited more than 14 teams , I think Sky, Rabo or Katusha could bring the stronger lineup than any of those Italian pro continental teams
edit: and Astana as well. The team of a current winner ain't invited, shame on RCS

I think not inviting the reigning champ was insulting, and not invited Lofkvist who has podiumed the last two years was out of order as well.

That said, its still a beautiful race. I hope it chucks it down with rain. :D
