I hope at some point this kid decides biking is stupid and gives it to his/her buddy for an Xbox.

I had to get a closer look. Is that a carbon front fork? indexed shifting? what gruppo? what frame material? how much money? how old is that kid 5? too many questions. all I can say is wow:eek:

I wonder what he will do when the girl next to him takes him out - the one whose helmet is covering her eyes!

It's a strange World the one we live in.

(I hope this is a bike he borrowed in the moment just to take part but... not so sure!)

i'm sure there's a stage mother (or father) behind this. the poor kid probably feels like a dork.

no way... can you get those wheels that size...

looks like a more standard alu frame... mini cross bike like...
fork looks carbon... gruppo... dont know... some older shimano ultegra... cranks are different though...

Not sure if this is any worse than the parents who can't handle dropping $360 on a mountain bike for their kid. They usually drive away in their Range Rover to find a Kmart and purchase some $150 POS that weighs more than the poor kid does.

Have a close look at the back wheel ... it's oval ... which most likely means that the bike has been cut and pasted over whatever was originally in the photo. There are also some marks on the pavement behind the bike that makes it look like there has been some smudging/dodging going on to disguise what was originally there - and the rear side of the front wheel looks uneven, like a piece of bad cutting ... similar issues around the hand and helmet ...

Besides which, as The Student noted, Lightweight only make 700c wheels ...

So ... methinks a few of you might just have overreacted a tad ...! :D

That pic pretty much sums up everything that is wrong with cycling.

Indeed - let's not pretend this foolishness is restricted to any age group or ability level.

and what is that?learn to wear a helmet?
or you mean...rich and poor...hmmm that exists since hmmmm forever.get over it.

i hope the kid beat the shiit out of the competition.

It's nice to look outside the clinic, if only for verification that the doping apologists also apply Randian notions to all aspects of life.
