He's a former winner of Paris-Roubaix but never seems to get the top billing on the other contenders. Was his win a fluke of some sort?

In other words, tell me a story...

I wouldn't say it was a fluke, but he was fortunate.

The final group had 4 Domo's, they traded off attacks making Hincapie chase until he couldn't anymore. Servais was the one that finally stuck.

regardless even getting in the final group at PR is big deal, winning is huge.

also johan m. won the sprint for second (also domo) he was the team captain and basically gave servais the nod to go for the win.......knaven has long been a favorite , he often rode for hours on the front at the tour during his domo and quick step years...........

I saw him winning a stage of the TdF in 2003 (I think) from a long breakaway into Bordeaux, always looked out for him after that.

Knaven has so far finished 15 Paris-Roubaix. He equalled Duclos-Lassalle and has just one less than Raymond Impanis who still holds the absolute record (We need to mention here that Impanis rode on a very different route with much less cobbles and better cobbles as well).

I hope he'll be able to equal it. ;)
