Specialized Tyre Amnesty - Worth it?

The amnesty is back and on offer are the S-Works turbo, basically ?30 off (with some old tyres).

I have the original GrandSports off my bike, one has a split on the top of the profile, it's been repaired several times and runs ok but can only be used for commuting so happy to get rid of them.


The thing is, for the ?50 the Specialized tyres with cost me I could currently get a set of Michelin Pro 4 Service Course, Schwalbe Ultremos, Vittoria Open Corsas or Paves and wirth the Michelins they are that price all the time (same for the Schawlbes).

So, are the Specialized worth a shot? I don't need new tyres, I have Lithions to commute on and GP4000s IIs for training/proper riding, but having a back up pair of something cheaper than the 4000s' would be nice.

They hired engineers who worked for Conti, so my guess is that the quality of Specialized tires is ok.

Thanks for the link! I always forget to check Rose as their stock levels seem to vary a lot.


The amnesty is looking less and less like a good deal...
