Sponsors in cycling

Have any of you bought something, or used a service because you heard of it through cycling?
I made this thread because I red here a topic about the new HTC. They left cycling a few years ago and we still pronounce their name. I never heard of HTC before and honestly in the first year I thought they are a company like Vodafone and Orange, not a phone manufacturer. And now I am on my second HTC phone. Ok, not because of cycling 100%, but maybe 30. The rest of 70% because I like their products.
So you pay 2-3 seasons, pray God to have success and results, and you get free commercial for next 5-6 years or more.

LE. You saw how their sales are after they quit cycling? Maybe coincidence but maybe not.

I always try and support the sponsors of cycling. I book car rentals with Europcar, booked a Vacansoleil site when following the tour last year, have a Garmin GPS and even chose Mapei bathroom sealant at the hardware over the other brands. If I ever need to blow sh!t up I'll be sure to use Orica ;)

And here (in Australia) I don't think I've ever seen a Skoda without bike racks on the roof - the brand is so closely associated with cycling. And may be on my short list when it comes time to renew.

Well... I have a Garmin (edge 200) bike computer. But it was really just because they only sold Garmins at the store where I brought it.

Of course, if I'd had to pick between various brands I might've still chosen that... :p
