IMO they were very ordinary. Not up to par with any of the past few editions.

The fact that the tv director didn't know what he was doing contributed to the awesomeness... the chase group with Evans, Breschel, Moerenhout etc. was suddenly sitting up, and I thought: huh, what's going on? Then the camera turned and there it was, the peloton approaching like a freight train. If you already know that's about to happen, yeah, I can imagine it's slightly less excitingMellow Velo said:Very true and I did.
However, I never felt the climbs were sufficient to make a small selection stick, with 6kms to the finish and so it proved in all 3 races.
The large group of favourites in a breakaway was rather surprising and unexpected. A big plus point.
