We crown the winner of a single day event cycling's world champion. But wee increasingly see two kinds of cyclist and two distinct cycling seasons, thjat of the one day classics, and the multistage events. Lets have another world champion, the stage race world champion, based on an average of the rider's performance in all 3 grand tours. It may encourage riders to take part in all 3 and make the Giro and the Vuelta more exciting.

Thoughts?

I always wondered if a company would offer a HUGE prize to the first rider to win a triple crown, sort of what exists with horse racing in the US. $10 million... $25 million... $100 million... *shrug*.
