I'm surprised last year's climb isn't in the top ten.
actually his time last year would be on this list, I remember it was one sec slower than widar's time, his time last year was 4:02, so he was 4 sec faster this year. However, for some reason that I'll never understand strava only shows the personal record of a rider in the top 10, even if his second time would be in the top 10

Remco was 1 seconds slower than in 2023.
He is in the same shape as at his peak back in 2023.
Pogi is just a monster.
Not objecting to your second conclusion, but your first? Cannot be drawn from the premise.

The pacing between Remco's two rides which you're comparing couldn't have been more different. Tactics affect pace...considerably.

I don't know how they rate them, but I think it's pretty accurate.

I never know where to rank Coppi because he couldn't compete in some races due to the war. Aside from that, I think Pogacar is alredy the third.
He's already surpassed Hinault in classics.
Obviously without the racing lost in his prime during WW2 he would be comfortably 2nd in points on this list. That said the world of cycling was so much smaller then as it was still an era of riders only winning the big races in their own country (Girardengo in the interwar years is the biggest example of this).

Cycling is big since the 90s.

Such an incredible rider. 9 Monuments (4x Lombardia, 3 LBL, 2 RVV), podium in the other two missing monuments, 4 GTs, WC... Now onto the summer campaign to tick off Dauphine and a 4th TdF with multiple stage wins to get him closer to the record.
He can become the second biggest winner (if we count only big wins: GTs, monuments, WCRR and ORR) in cycling after this season. Only behind Merckx. Incredible!

But to be a helper, you need to give everything you have when you are helping him, something you didn’t do in PR.

When in the race should he have given more? The selection happened so quickly and Pogi never waited for his teammates to join him.

He needs to anticipate Pogacar's move (or other favorites). Trying to be in a group ahead in case Pogacar attacks and join him. If he waits for MVP or Pogacar, he will never help.
