BMC will blow up today. The team is in disarray. Everybody needs to go really deep here and as one team in order to stay close to Sky or Sunweb. I do not see that coming.

Thay finish 4th in best today.

If I take into consideration that Froome´s crash could have some impact on him, Sunweb could probably even win here today.

I remember when the 100 k TTT, was one of the most prestigious events at the olympics.

Those were 4 man teams, so doing it with 8 shouldn't be a problem.

TTTs make a lot more sense for national teams than for trade teams imo. It's unfortunate that the IOC is relatively stingy with cycling events at the Olympics, although the reasons are of course understandable.

Well, it's not Sky or BMC fault if you've signed with a s*** team for big paycheck and leader role. Too late to complain that your teammates lack quality.

I had thought BMC would take this before the race started, but after Richie was left to pull himself
To the line on Stage 1, I don’t think so.

Re: Re:

Regarding the presence of TTTs in Grand Tours, I feel this stage is too long. Around 20 km would be optimal to have some gaps but not to destroy anyone.

I think having a 100 km TTT could be nice, but would obviously have a way too big effect to GC. Maybe let it count as it is to team competition, but divide times by 5 or something for GC.

Or have like with US Postal in the time trials for giving fixed time to the finishes of other teams for the places they finished to make it more fair.

The problem with fixed times was that it actually increased relative losses of some contenders. IIRC the worst P2 was able to lose was 20 seconds, then 30 for P3, 40 for P4 etc.

If the result sheet was like that, P5 lost 3 seconds on P2 but with the fixed time the loss was 30 seconds!

P1
P2 50
P3 51
P4 52
P5 53

Mitchelton Scott won’t be winning today, they are only using 6 men, Yates and Nieve are just sitting in the back.
