Anyone have any rumor knowledge on who may join this team?

Are they going after Wiggins and/or Cavendish?

Who may be team leaders on this squad?
i'd say wiggins is significantly more likely than cavendish. he could race for national pride, be a clear team leader, and help the team with their stated goal of winning the TdF with a Brit within 5 years.

i'd say cavendish would be 1) more expensive, 2) less willing to leave his leadout train 3) less in the direction of the team's mission statement than wiggo.

additionally, it's difficult to build a team built around a high placing in the GC while also providing your world-class sprinter with a great leadout train. garmin, this year, i guess did ok, but didn't really dominate either.

just my $.02

Cavendish is unlikely to leave Columbia given the support he has with that team, Wiggins may be another story.

I figure that Wiggins stays with Garmin unless they bring on Contador - if they do, I believe he would feel a need to find a team to support him. I wonder if Contador can see the irony?

Lots of rumours.... Ballan, Flecha & Nibali... Wiggins is under contract till 2010!

Scott Sunderland said live on Eurosport that the team (have signed) will be 50% british riders already.

Contador going to Garmin could make more sense than others (he needs a team that is well organized), then Wiggins got to go (I dont think he'll ever win TDF, I tend to think he and Frank Schleck are two sides of the same losing coin - one cant do ITT and the other cant do mountains). I think with a strong team you can play tactical cards better, but not necessary to win the tour, for that you need a superstar. Suddenly lots of all rounder riders find themselve in competition with climb specialists, and realize they could lose up to 3 mins in the mountain - it's hard to make up the time on the flats.

Wiggins himself has made a big deal of the fact he doesn't want to go to Sky.

But I guess people prefer to ignore that every time just so they can have a good gossip.

As for Cavendish. No chance whatsoever that he goes to sky this year. For a combination of reasons, including the fact that he doesn't want to.

Cavendish would have to be on crack if he decides to go to Sky. He has one of the best teams (some would say THE best team) completely dedicated to getting him as many wins as he possibly can. I mean how many teams would put a guy who was top 10 in the GC at the time into a position where he was pulling for a Cavendish sprint (Tony Martin)? Probably not many others. Sky can only be a step down in terms of working for Cav, because it can't get a whole lot better for him now.

You have to consider that Columbia won't be the same team in a year or two. So it might make sense for him to place himself in a better position.

Perhaps. But again i point to the dedication Columbia have shown him. Pretend that Sky next year have both Brad Wiggins and Cav in their Tour team. Would Sky put Wiggins on the front to pull for Cav if Wiggins was up there in the GC? Probably not. But it is what Columbia did for Cav. That's dedication, complete and utter dedication. That's attractive in a team no matter whether they are super strong like C.-HTC is now, or merely strong like they could potentially be two years down the road.

I know 4 names that are going:
Geraint Thomas
Chris Froome
David Millar
Ben Swift

Cavendish will not leave the best lead out train in the world. But wiggins only he knows where he wants to go.

When you say YOU KNOW, does that mean you think you know, or you know you know, cos last i read both garmin and dave millar said not a hope in hell as he was part owner of the team...

theyve got 17 of there riders signed up anyway..

It seems as though Juan Antonio Flecha is going to be riding for Sky as well as Thomas Lovkvist and Edvald Boassen Hagen. Serge Pauwels also looks likely along with Froome, Cummings, Thomas and Stannard.

Judging from rumours I have seen other possible riders are; Heinrich Haussler, Ben Swift, Vincenzo Nibali, Alessandro Ballan, Marcus Burghardt and Karston Kroon.
