I will be waiting for feedback on how long it lasts.

SRM bought out an alloy clamp to overcome the problems of the plastic mount getting "sloppy" - they used to last only 6-12 months before they fractured.

Many Al alloy's are crystalline in nature, and appear to fracture in environments where there is significant vibration - a computer mount on a bicycle with the weight at the extremity will be very vulnerable to this mode of failure.
