Yeah, things are a mess around here right now.

I'm wasting way too much time on some of my posts, just trying to get them to format correctly. They preview just fine, but then the final post is truncated for some reason. It may be related to quoting other posts, but I'm not sure. I think I discovered a workaround for it last night, but now I can't remember exactly how I did that.

Anyway, did I mention that it is 2014?

This is kind of joke, no? Then again, this is the same place that collapsed during the TdF last year with barely a mention of what was going on, only then to offer up what was an implausible explanation at best.

same issue: preview just redisplays text entered. hit [Post] and it's saved to the db, then retrieved and redisplayed.

if they changed the main post field format, it's possible the field is now effectively smaller, so larger posts will truncate when posting to the db.

at a guess forums are low priority and not funded well.

I do remember now that workaround I came up with yesterday (although it did not work today. I've tried repeatedly to post in the Froome Book thread, but my post was incomplete each time, so I kept on deleting it).

Anyway, in case this helps, yesterday I had to submit my post, THEN go back into edit mode and include the quoted post from another user. This was the only way to have both the quote and my response appear together.

Thanks for this thread. Feeding it back to our dev team to see if they can solve it.

Cheers

I've just wasted more time trying to post in the Hincapie thread.

Must be related to quoting in general. Tried to insert a few Velonews quotes but my post (which wasn't very long to begin) was reduced to only a few sentences.

Unless maybe there's an embedded code to eliminate any drivel from Velonews (which would be perfectly understandable)?

Really though, this forum is not even close to functioning properly. Not sure why I'm even wasting my time anymore, to be honest.

Yes this website is jacked up right now. :( But Granville what you suggested here does work. I typed out my post with the link I wanted to post, and sure enough it didn't work - so I edited it, pasted the link there and then it would work. Annoying that it requires so much work, but better then nothing I guess....
