No unique riders for me :(

Thought about Stefano Locatelli, he would have been the one.

Minor point: The season could have started with the Australian National ITT, so deadline on the 8th and finished with the last of the National Championships (Colombia and Paraguay were both 17 November last year, 9 days after the last 2.1 ended).

ffs, the team I submitted had Ospina instead of Finetto, why did I use 2 spreadsheets.

I took a couple of risks with some of my picks, but I believe they will pay off with a bit of luck.

think I ended up with only one unique pick - vermote. Quite surprised to see other people with Rick Zabel as well :D I only picked him because I ended up over 7500

My team should be called "The biggest losers" team as I simply selected riders that were underperforming last year. Since I have the data from last year available, I just run a simple report comparing 2011 and 2012. Didnt have time to really work on my team so this was a two minute effort. Quite honestly, I'm not even sure who some of those guys I selected are :) Good luck to all!

Stat of the day:

CQManager's squad has a 2011 score of 21,607 without Gilbert, Evans or Cancellara (i'm dubbing it the all-comeback team). Edit; you beat me to it!

Winner likely have a 2011 score between ~15,000 and ~18,000. If anybody can do it with <12,000 i will be very impressed.

Obviously the success of the most popular riders will determine the winning score but it is likely that it will take less points to win the competition this year. Anybody scoring over 15,000 should likely be proud of their achievement.

That's surprising. Gva and anton 2011 combined was about 1840. Gilbert 2011 was 3000.

So.from a 2011 perspective you should have taken Gilbert rather than them 2 ( and would have had about 200 for another pick).

I didnt want any rider over 1000 points and I was excepting that he will be very popular pick. One of those risky moves. Quite honestly, he can make or break any team. I didnt even want those two 700 points pick but that would mean more work and I just wanted to go based on those reports without thinking about it too much.

The downside is that I dont have any rider who did good last year and still has potential to improve. All these are "2012 losers" :)

Nice to see a few on the Gallopin bandwagon including two top10s from last year!

One one took Van Dijk :(

I was very close to selecting Gallopin. In the end it came down to the crucial question 'could I really see him doubling his points?', and I was hesitant. So I picked... Farrar? Ugh.

if anyone wants to check my team its in the spreadsheet. I've certainly gambled on leaving some riders out - but at the moment I am relatively content.

Anyone pick any brazilians to try and get an early lead?

Also anyone who has expressed an interest in the CQ youth game over on Velorooms the deadline is 8 January 11.59pm GMT

I just realised that my team is one of the highest scoring teams going on 2011 results. Hopefully that will hold me in good stead and my riders will make big improvements in 2013.

Kloden, Pettachi, Millar:eek:

You really have picked some old hacks there.:p

Perhaps, but you have to take risks in this game. I think those guys could improve enough for them to be quite profitable.

I hope I didn't forget some obvious picks. :D
