I had Trentin on my team in 2012 and 2013. I got tired of waiting for him to make a breakthrough, but he is a good rider who has had some bad luck (such as his broken bone last year, crashing when in the chase group at the finish of Milan-San Remo 2012). I am surprised that only 6 people picked him.

Yeah, me too. I had him and Hepburn in both 2012 and 2013 and dropped them both this year. I decided to keep, for the third year in a row, Enrico Battaglin, so hopefully his incredible greatness grows to such levels as he makes me forget about both of those guys.

Good to see EBH up there; LL Sanchez with 20 points is okay, hope he'll do a few better at Tour Med.

Now why did Bennati lose 11 minutes the other day in echelons if he's going to be in shape and get 2nd in a shot TT. He could've done a good GC here and he's a pretty rare pick! :(

Anyway, nice to see him in shape at least. Hope he can get some good results this spring.

Yep, he won't get many points in the sprints, he should get points in these races. He's not in my team fwiw, too risky imo, could do well, 500-600 points but could also do worse.

I continue to regret not choosing Hepburn. I can't see him scoring under 300 and possibly up around 500.

Though next update I'll do ok, which i suspect means a number of others will too, Swift, Brambilla, Bennati, and EBH

Scored high 200eds last week and thought I will be top 5 for the week and maybe move up from 5th overall. Instead I was 26th and moved down to 6th !! Couldn't believe it. There are some really skilled guys out there that got real strong teams. Looking at their teams I think: How on earth did they combine all these quality riders into 7500 points? In a nutshell: Bye bye from top ten for me very soon - days in the sun are over. Next year i have to take even more time to choose my team.

So, tour of Qatar not going to well for me. Tour de Med should go better for me I think.

tour de Med
VOECKLER Thomas
JUNGELS Bob
VAN POPPEL Danny
BARGUIL Warren
SANCHEZ Luis Leon

Sanchez should be competing for the win in the GC. Barguil can end up somewhere near the front of the race at mont Faron. Since it's a punchy climbing TT he might end up with som GC points as well. Poor sprinting field, so Van Poppel could earn some points here. It will be intresting to see how well Jungels can do in the difficult terrain. And finally, as for Voeckler, probably too early to do anything, considering his crash in Australia. But it's good to see he's back al ready, even before Algarve, as he originally planned.

Theo Bos got first 10 points. 990 more and I will be happy.

Now I need my two most expensive picks (Talansky & Stybar) to start collecting points and the TOP10 should be easy money :D

Don't get too confident.

No kidding!

... Allan Davis retired so I just lost one rider. I have to admit I had no idea his contract wasnt renewed but I had him on my long list for so long that I completely failed to check on him before I submitted the team.

Having three riders in the Qatar top 10 GC is not a bad result considering VAN KEIRSBULCK Guillaume (2 teams) and Andrew Fenn (7 teams) are not exactly popular picks. Obviously Boonen doesnt count.

Also my most expensive pick Eddie Boss is showing signs of life.

Top 100 here I come!

CQM out ...

Nizzolo was a risky pick that probably now won't pay off. :(

He could still pay off well. Look at his best CQ year, 2012. A lot of his points came in races closer to the end of the season, like Ster ZLM, Wallonie, Eneco, Vattenfall Cyclassics, etc.

Might miss out on points in a few of the early classics coming up, but should be back in action by the Giro at least.

Boonen into profit.
The third rider from my team to turn a profit after Gerdemann and Hepburn :)
Meanwhile Degenkolb is racking up the points in France and he will hopefully continue next week in Haut Var. Also, glad to see he is riding Paris-Nice where he will probably earn more points than last year in Tirreno Adriatico. Then MSR might be a good surprise, with the Pompeiana unlikely to feature, Degenkolb will have a much better shot in the final (as will Boonen for that matter) than I first expected.

Okay, well a few points this week from (obviously) Boonen, EBH, and we'll see in a couple of hours about Sanchez, but mostly disappointment. Onto next week!

Oman

Sam Bennett
Van Den Broeck
Moser
Boonen
Schleck
Battaglin

Hmm, not many 'rare' riders here... Bennett was consistent in Qatar, and there will be far fewer sprinters in Oman, maybe he can pick up some podiums. Battaglin... I won't hold my breath based on Qatar results.

Andalucia

Vanendert
Lutsenko
EBH
LL Sanchez
Gerdemann
Teklehaimanot

A few options here... hope for something from everyone (except maybe Vanendert)

Algarve

Contador
Coppel

Well duh... Contador needs to do well. Coppel can too.
