The Best Domestique

After watching Sky last week with EBH on early slopes and Porte ride to support Wiggo. It seemed Froome and Rodgers weren't even needed to help out .

I know the Sky team is strong, and is now being compared to US Postal/discovery.

Just made me think, which team has the best support rider??

Personally after seeing porte ride at the front for most of the climbs and counter most of the attacks....without help (which was there if he was weak) made me think he's as strong as S.Symd was in 09.

Lance Armstrong @ Tour de France 2009

Strongest....maybe?

Best...absolutely no way. He rode only in support of himself.

Edit: If sarcasm then by all means! :)

Danny Pate, I read in Thomas's column in Cyclesport that he deliberately rides in front of Thomas when they are working to protect Thomas from the wind as opposed to Thomas taking wind behind a small guy.

Answer is Jef Bruyère.

Two Liège when his leader was past his prime !

Isn't that kind of a regular thing to do for a domestique?
No Thomas and Pate were both working for Wiggins in Romandie.

It isnt a case of being a domestique but shows his tendency for the role even when it is not necessary.

Exactly ;)

If I want to be serious, then I always liked what Popovych did for his leaders, actually he was and he is my favorite rider, so he is an easy choice :)
