That was a nice final, Fedi is an insteresting ride.
The young Italian climber Giulio Ciccone (21 years, arrived 12th, last Sunday he was 5th in the G.P. Costa degli Etruschi, not too bad for your first two races as a neopro and Bardiani is a good team for a young Italian prospect.

Lol, I used to hate him because I was a Gibo fan. :D
But yeah, it was nice to see him on the attack.

GP Lugano today. Does it deserve its own thread?

Edit: The startlist suggests not, to be honest.

No, I agree. Not many big names on the startlist. Mostly "the usual suspects" of the Italian one-day race calendar, but with a quite a weak field overall to be honest.

Colbrelli and Bole are my favorites here, with Gavazzi, Ulissi, Cunego, Pasqualon, Finetto and Sbaragli among the outsiders.

No way that's hilarious! I feel kind of bad for Ulissi. Supremely consistent this year but without a win.

Gran Premio Città di Lugano.

Fiek misjudged a corner, went wide, hit the barrier and flew over it... a 12 m fall. Luckily he avoided the rocks of the cliff and dived into the lake underneath.
Potentially a fatal crash, he was rescued by a local boat.
He is now in hospital. Nothing broken.

Dreadful.

Wow, there's footage from that crash?

Meanwhile, Zardini broke 4 vertebrae and there are rumours it might be even more serious than it sounds. :( Let's hope he recovers.
