Which of the major countries in the poll will win last this year? All races at level .1 or above count. Stage wins and GC wins only, no other jerseys. TTTs don't count either.

The poll shows the ten countries that won most last year but have not yet won this year. Take your pick.

Last year's thread is here.

3 - Italy (29), Colombia (25)
2 - Argentina (14)
1 - Morocco (8), Belarus (7), Netherlands (3)

Well, I'd pick a country like Ethiopia (I can't even think of a rider from that country right now), but from the poll I'll go with the USA. We don't win that much.

Good pick but we will get some wins in one of the smaller races :D

I will go with Slovakia. They have just Sagan and considering the rainbow jersey curse it may be a while before he wins a race.

Slovakia is not available therefore I voted Danmark

No Portugal on poll?
Surprised as well, likely to wrap this up with ease.
The countries in the poll are those that scored ten or more victories last year and have not yet won this year. Italy, France, Australia, Netherlands and Colombia have already won this year. See below for last year's victory ranking.

All of the countries in the poll also had more than 100 top tens. The only other country to score more than 100 top tens was Portugal, but it simply did not win enough to make it into the poll.

Country ranking 2015 - Number of wins (number of top tens in brackets)
113 - Italy (1011)
62 - France (756)
60 - Spain (540)
59 - Belgium (714)
41 - Australia (273)
38 - Netherlands (434)
36 - Germany (205)
35 - Great Britain (212)
27 - Norway (131)
19 - Slovenia (120)
13 - Colombia (211)
12 - Russia (174)
11 - USA (162)
10 - Denmark (157), Poland (112)
8 - Iran (89), Czech Republic (67), Slovakia (61), Belarus (59)
7 - Switzerland (63), Ireland (47)
6 - Luxembourg (47), Estonia (33)
5 - Argentina (37), Tunisia (8)
4 - Portugal (143), Austria (55), Kazakhstan (33)
3 - New Zealand (60), South Africa (52), Croatia (21)
2 - Lithuania (53), Latvia (17), Sweden (16), Algeria (11), Brazil (10)
1 - Ukraine (63), Canada (32), South Korea (26), Turkey (19), China (12)
0 - Japan (32), Eritrea (27), Romania (22), Greece (14), Malaysia (10), Azerbaijan (6), Costa Rica (5), Indonesia (5), Hong Kong (4), Morocco (4), Rwanda (4), Mongolia (3), Bulgaria (2), Dominican Republic (2), Hungary (2), Mexico (2), Namibia (2), Taiwan (2), Albania (1), Chile (1), Ethiopia (1), Singapore (1), Syria (1), Uruguay (1)

I'm surprised Poland only got 1 out of 41 votes so far. They're the weakest country in the poll according to last year's ranking.

Why does nobody have any faith in Denmark?
Because they lack 'winners'.

I'd say that since we're even in the running for this, and therefore were in - or at least close to - the top-10 of winning countries from last year, we do have winners. :p
We just lack early winners.

At #15, you were the last one in and none of your 10 most recent wins would have qualified. (9 are 2. and one is U23).

Having said that, I'm always rooting for the underdog. Go, uhm, Boasson Hagen? No, oh well, close enough.

Five of Denmark's ten wins last year came in the Tour of Denmark in August, but for the USA it's even worse: nine of its eleven wins were scored on home soil in August. With just a bit of bad luck they can remain winless until August this year.

Germany is out, by the way, so nine countries remain.

Denmark it is. The only danish riders who are 'winners' are all neopro's and have not matured enough on a higher level.
Magnus Cort is of course a joker (and a winner), and it remains to be seen how much last season taught him. Afterall he was close a couple of times on world tour level. Breschel is not consistent enough and that isn't likely to change even if he's actually a team leader in the classics for Cannondale. This tells the story, as these are the two danish riders most likely to have success in the spring, and their odds of winning in the spring doesn't even look too good.
