So what kind of a rider is he? I checked his PCS and it seems today was his fourth win in a row, albeit the other wins were in lower tiered races. But still, he seems to be off to a great start.

Visma described him as a Matthews type when they moved him to the main team, which seems reasonable given how insane his climbing was at times in his U23 year (you should check out his results in the Orlen Nations Grand Prix and the profiles they happened on). He already seems to have much more of a killer instinct than Matthews himself, though.

Shame they make him wear that ugly helmet though.

I think the word the should be in there somewhere, whether it be Brennan the thread or Matthew the Brennan is less important, but the thread creator will and should always have the final say, and other people shouldn't be complaining about that.

An exciting future seems to be ahead of him. Today's performance was something else.

Done too. Agreed.

He looked maybe the strongest in the race at Rund um Köln last year against some pretty decent guys and was only 18 at the time, still managed 6th after being in the break. Didn't expect him to be this good this soon though, he was meant to be doing the ciciban schedule this year to get some more experience but yeah, card subject to change.

Only two weeks since this historical document:

"Wagner also spoke about Brennan’s balanced approach to his development, acknowledging that despite his breakthrough at WorldTour level, he remains committed to gaining valuable experience in the under-23 ranks.

"Matthew has already shown himself at the highest level but also indicated that he wants to ride in the Development Team races. He realizes that he can still learn a lot at this level. This illustrates his ambition to improve constantly."

"Matthew has been part of the WorldTour team since this season, but we must not forget that he is still only nineteen," Wagner added. "It's good for both him and the team that he competes in U23 races like this. He's one of the biggest talents out there, and he proves it time and time again. We can look back on a perfect weekend."
