streamed on the website of HBVL.

Thanks!

I've been trying to find on the HBVL website, but I can't find their streaming section. Can you give me a direct link?
I suppose it will go online when the race starts. Haven't been able to find it either. Livestream starts tomorrow 14gmt. Information is scarce.

I'll try to remember to look it up for you.

Is the live stream going okay with you?

Here the stream went one hour backwards. Just at the moment there was an 8-man breakaway with Van Aert and Vermeersch but no Mathieu. At first it seemed to me that Gianni Vermeersch was taking turns but then stopped doing so. Where is Mathieu?

Ah okay so Mathieu trailing by one minute now. :(

Nice to see Kevyn Ista still has it. Very nice guy :)

Overall the crossers are doing well: the Sweeck brothers, Tom Meeusen, Toon Aerts, Corne Van Kessel, Tim Merlier, Jim Aernouts + Gianni, Wout & Mathieu... They've all shown up. :)

Wout, Jim and Gianni still in the lead group!!!

1 Wout Van Aert
2 Dorian Godon
3 Gianni Vermeersch

The sprint start by Wout was huge. Ista and Aernouts eventually dropped. :( The peloton came close in the end but apparently Mathieu did not sprint for a top10 place

Is Etienne Van Empel related to Micki? I've often wondered for the last 5 years, lol.

Yes, the stream worked all right, except for a brief period where it was offline.

Van der Poel seemed ok (from the images they showed) until they entered in the final circuit, after the group went clear he disappeared. Maybe a offday or he increased his training schedule this week ahead of the Marathon World Championships and have a bit of heavy legs.

Next races: Bruges Cycling Classic (Sunday) & Halle-Ingooigem (Wednesday). Anyone got any info about Bruges Cycling Classic (if it's going to be on TV or the parcours)?

He is currently training on Ventoux, so I don't expect him to be very fresh on sunday. Today he rode the parcours of the granfondo "La Cannibale", with 170 k's and a double Ventoux ascent. I don't know if he is going to start tomorrow on the proper Granfondo.

It's called the 'Eflstedenronde' and will be aired on Sporza (so there will probably be a livestream somewhere). It's a new race were the wind can play it's role and with 17 (I think) cobbled sections.

Well It's not completely new, only the last edition was held 28 years ago.

Actually you'll have to thank the **** that moved The RVV's start, because of that Bruges brought this pearl back...

I read that story too. ;) As I said on another forum I have a lot more respect for Golazo than for Flanders Classics, even though Golazo might be criticised for many things.
One thing that always seemed odd to me is that the Eleven Town Tour has always been translated into French as "Circuit des onze villes" in the old days. Now journalists rightly translate it as "Tour des onze villes". I've never known why that was. But really it was a race that many Belgian greats rode in the sixties. A top race!

Will you be on the roadside, Generic? It crosses your region if I'm not mistaken. :)

Exams my friend, anyway perhaps because they don't want it to be confused with the popular ice skating race "tour des onze villes", as I think it's called in french?

I saw this race on the calendar, but didn't realize it was the revival of an older race. Looks like a good race. Thanks for the info Echoes and GenericBoonenFan! :)

Looking forward to a great battle with WVA.

It was an interesting battle. VDP went on the attack a few times, while Van Aert just followed. Also Keukeleire attacked and seemed the only road rider who was able to match VDP en Van Aert. In the end Van Aert was just a bit faster in the sprint than VDP.

Obviously Van Aert en Van der Poel are not racing on World Tour level, but it is fun to watch how VDP en Van Aert basically win or compete for the win in every singel road race they start.

Van Aert did not just follow he was very active in taking turns. Only he did not attack. Mathieu made a long solo effort with 40km to go though partly accompanied by Devriendt and Tosh Van der Sande, when they crossed Bruges before the local laps before letting the group come back. It seems like he wanted to test because he sure knew that he was unlikely to solo to finish.

It seems clear that his Ventoux expedition earlier this week impaired his performance because normally he's a faster sprinter to Van Aert (flat or uphill), though here he got himself a bit locked up behind Naesen L. However Wout was himself locked up at the start of the sprint. Last position in the group but as he explained there was a side wind from the left and he chose it deliberately. Amazing sprint by the Campiner! :)

Also someone should explain to me why Oliver Naesen was so active in the chase. I mean he had his brother in front. Okay they raced for different teams but on the other hand he also had his occasional teammate and co-leader Jens Keukeleire in front. Normally they raced the Tour of Belgium together in the national team, so there should get along even if they are opponents most of the time. I mean they both deliberately chose to race in the national team. It's not like they are racing the Worlds ???

I know he did 230k's on Friday (with double Ventoux), but do you know if also did the granfondo yesterday? I saw some pictures of Mathieu, David, Adri and Poulidor with Merckx, don't know if they are from friday or from yesterday.

Nevertheless, for now the big goal must be the MTB Marathon World Championships and the 8 hours he did on the saddle friday must be a good practice for that goal.
