The nicest thing anyone has ever said to you

I remembered this today and it struck me as the lovliest compliment I've ever received.

In a university union hall 16 years ago, an acquaintance (read: someone you found yourself getting ****ed with) asked me to sing something. I sang a Beatle song - I think it was 'You Can't Do That' - one of the most misogynistic songs ever written - and someone told me I sang it better than John Lennon.

I sang a John Lennon song better than John Lennon. *

That, my fellow forumites, is the nicest thing anyone has EVER said to me, if not the most sincere.

What's the nicest compliment you've ever received?

no1 has ever said anything nice to me :(

Original topic! :)

excluding the obligatories from wife and children:

From a retired Pro rider, "You sit a bike really well".

From a very cute girl when I was about 28, "You're lovely"

(context is everything!)

As a 16yr old I decided to go to a few Jazz Ballet classes as I liked a few chicks there and thought it would help with my suppleness for cycling. The lady that did the testing on the state level and was quite well known in the ballet circles in regards to picking talent, etc said that I wasn't very good at ballet, but I had the most glorious and strong looking legs she had ever seen in a male ballet dancer. She gave me 10/10 for my legs. No wonder I've stuck to cycling.

Can anyone beat that!!

nicest thing lately

"you are faster than you look".

I am not sure this counts but I got to watch 3 women strip down and change into bathing suits because "they trust me". I am trying to take it as a positive rather than I am completely harmless

"Would you mind if I straddle your leg?" From an acquaintance's hot sister.

:D

That's the nicest thing that comes immediately to mind.

A girl at a party once said that everyone there must be a figment of my imagination as i was too strange to be a figment of anyone elses

i took that as a good thing, not sure she meant it as a compliment.

What rickshaw wrote. 31.5 yrs later, but same thing.

Ok, not something that he said to me, I mean the sentiment his spouse said to him. You know what I mean.
