three brakes on Mikhail Ignatiev's bike

Katusha rider Mikhail Ignatiev took an extreme approach to bar padding for Paris-Roubaix.

In this photograph there appears to be an additional brake lever on the handlebars. Is this legal as far as UCI is concerned?

Here, let me help you with that "photograph". It's a bar top cross lever, and UCI legal, borrowed from cyclocross. Never heard of it? (see 2nd photo). That ridiculous padding should be banned though. :rolleyes:

Might want to change the title of this thread from "three brakes" to "three brake levers."

Sorry, but I had to nit-pick on this one.

Unless, of course, Ignatiev also added a disc brake somewhere...
