I love it! Unfortunately, you would never be able to grab one out of a pocket fast enough.

Not such a great idea

Judging from the responses to this magnet on the Gizmondo website, throwing it at some yahoo is tantamount to a death wish.

It's a stupid idea anyway. If the drivers behaviour is that bad then report their number to the police. I don't want some fool fumbling around in his jersey pocket in front of me trying to find a magnet in amongst all their other belongings.

The intention is probably good, but it's a fail from me.

Nice idea (the magnetic note)... to think about doing but not actually do. I ride a lot of rural farming community roads (you know... 50 mph, two lane, NO shoulder). Some of the locals are a little stiff-necked, to be polite. In this area it would not be a good idea to give them incentive to strike back. My guess is, a lot of places are like that.

So... in the heat of the moment we're supposed to reach down in our pocket, take out a magnet and stick it to the car... yeah... I could totally do that...

Yep, me too. I could easily be dumped in a ditch and not be found for months around here. I've set up my iphone so that Mrs Rat can track me when I'm out, so at least if I am killed I won't decompose in a ditch.

The magnet could be useful for those times when you catch up with someone sat at traffic lights.

People are too short tempered and i would imagine the type of person who buzzes close to a cyclist would not take kindly to a lecture. Just making a bad situation worse. Things escalate easily. When i was young and stupid i chased down a car that had buzzed me and thrown a full cup of soda at me. I started by giving them a lecture but their indifferent response just enraged me. How dare they be so flippant about a situation where i could have been seriously injured. So i took out my anger on both doors and the left front quarter panel. A Sprinters legs and cycling cleats can do well over a thousand dollars worth of body damage in pretty short order. However i didnt realize how maniacal i seemed until i noticed the scared look on their faces and the fact that they had locked the doors and cowered in fear
I realized they were just idiots who werent thinking about the consequences of their actions but i knew what i was doing. I went from victim to bad guy in short order.
that was the last time i confronted an idiot.
