Time for leaving the UCI

With the following statement from the Pro Teams, is it time for the teams to set up there own races away from the UCI. After all the UCI needs the teams and riders, but they do not need the UCI.
"The AIGCP (International Association of Professional Cycling Groups) met on Friday for its first general assembly of the 2011 season. The main topic of discussion was the UCI's ban on race radios. Unhappy with the UCI's unwillingness to repeal the radio ban, the AIGCP threatened "drastic action" if there is no repeal by May 1, 2011."

It might be easier to start a new organization and then the riders can deal with REAL issues rather than whining about radios. The best shot at improvement is that the USADA case combined with EU cooperation might actually reveal some of the UCI's favors for cash business model. The IOC would insist on a more "moral" operation to represent cycling or the sport would risk exclusion from the pristine Olympic games.
An even more unicorn-type fantasy would eventually find the IOC complicit in covering up PED positives but I'm fresh out of unicorns.

Now I don't have much love for the UCI and it would be nice to see a change of guards, but the issue of radio bans is probably the only one where I agree with the UCI.

Give the riders an earpiece with race radio advising them of dangerous situations if you like, but no DS should be able to phone in when to attack etc. If riders want to talk to their DS, they should fall back and wait for the team car.
