Tire Rotation: Recommended?

Very first post and couldn't find a thread on this, so please be kind.

My back tire normally wears through before my front. Is it worthwhile to rotate them around at some point to balance out the wear?

If so, at what intervals would I want to swap?

Bad idea? Any advice would be welcome.

Personally I think rotation is a waste of time. I just swap like for like. I never liked the idea of putting the most compromised tire (rear) onto the front then repeat. I typically go through 4-5 rear to 1 front.

It took me too long to figure this out but I eventually noticed that the vast majority of my punctures were on the rear wheel so I started using a heavier, more puncture-resistant tire there. Since the front uses a lighter tire, rotation makes no sense.

Even if you're using two identical tires, I don't think rotation serves any valid purpose. It's a waste of time. A worn out tire is a worn out tire.

If you're a cheapskate like me, however, you might eventually turn the tire around 180 degrees when it starts to wear on one side because of the road crown.

Wear out the rear, replace with front, new tire on front, ALWAYS!.....Rinse and repeat.

Yep...Unless hitting the deck is your "thing" then by all means.

PUT the best tire on the front. Loose traction because of a worn tire on the rear, not as big a deal as the same on the front. Back worn out? Get a new tire, put on front, front tire on rear.

another way of doing of doing it for sure. best traction and sidewalls up front always
