He did exaclty what he should do. Saved his GC spot and Wellens won the stage... AC can't win everything

Nothing negative about it.

He rode to protect his gc as well as giving Lotto the best chance of winning the stage. His presence in the chasing group also gave Wellens a perfect reason to save himself a bit before the sprint.

This is so unneccesary. Hating on a rider for doing what was in his and his team's best interests. I bet if Contador was in the same position with Froome up the road in Contador's position, everyone would be hailing Gallopin. It may have had a big effect on the GC result but Gallopin did what he was told by his team
