Victory for Victor! That wasn't a rehearsed camera smile; that was true emotion. A strong bear like him in tears. It reminded me of Ludo Dierckxsens' win: somebody who always attacks, and then at his umptieth attempt finally gets rewarded.

Honestly I thought Kwiatkowski was going to win that sprint. Campenaerts however did everything right in the preparation and during the stage. He used his monster gear to close the gap to Kwiatkowski in the descent, did just enough turns, and finished it off with a perfectly timed power sprint.

I wondered if Matthews or Campenaerts would win, and Victor came up trumps - chapeau! A parting farewell gift to Lotto before going off to greener pastures at Visma.

I'd probably put UAE, JV, QS, Intermarché, and Alpecin clearly ahead and DSM and EF just ahead as it stands now.

Looks like the sunglasses are sitting in his helmet, so he's not actually wearing them.

1. I'm pretty sure Total will get an invite next year; they're the only French ProTeam, so they're pretty much guaranteed an invite, regardless of whether they're in the automatic invites slot.
2. It's not even sure he'll be with Total next year.
