... but you can make a results based argument that Vingegaard can beat Pogacar, hence the gaps in likelihood ratings.
Can you? The last time he beat Pogacar straight up without either of them having a disturbed prep up was 3 years ago after they tag-teamed him, before Pogacar changed his trainer. Since then (him changing trainers), it's been a very one-sided affair. So assuming Vingegaard "can" beat him because he did some point in time, i don't know how relevant that is at this stage. Since that moment, all of UAE seems to have levelled up, while all of Visma seems to have levelled down.

If you watch the interviews either Vingegaard, Remco, and Roglic, I think they agree with our assessment over yours. Unless they’re misdirecting.

Disturbed prep is part of the game. What remains is the past 4 years they are 2-2 head to head and that includes Pogacar's win in 2021 where Vingegaard started the race riding in support of Roglic. No other rider has made the 3rd step on the podium more than once in that time. The two are heads above the rest. Of course it's bike racing and easy for something to happen that effects the outcome and has us back here next year having the same argument all over again.
