As the start of June signalls newsagents having these on every stand - could I ask what ones people buy / have bought which are the best or offer best value for money.
I already bought the first one out today - Cycling Weekly/Cycling Sport Ultimate Tour Guide for £7.50 & tbh it's pretty dreadful & I've pretty much covered it in 3 or 4 hours. It's obviously written even pre Giro selection, with references to plenty of riders who won't even race in it, never mind be a contender.
But even what is in it, barely tells you anything. the stage guides have profiles of only about 1/3 of the stages. They mention the very first stage won't be won by a sprinter but give no profile or detail why. Nothing on which riders may contend each stage or contenders for any of the jerseys.
I do always buy the Official TDF guide, it's the most expensive £10 I think & out tomorrow and has all of that and another free Wiggle bottle this year - and I'd imagine the usual DVD.
