Seeing as I'm a gamer as well as a cycling fan, I thought I'd drop this by for you all. I know most of you have probably never even touched a video game but some of you have. Given the thread for the pro cycling manager game has over 400 replies this might amuse you all. Here is the link for site of the company (Focus Home Interactive) who made the last pro cycling managers new game.

Also, here is a brief video posted by IGN. If you don't know what IGN is you clearly don't touch video games:

I get the impression there are two games. Firstly the console game for the 360 and the PS3 which might be published by the above company, but Cyanide is making it. I've never heard of them, which in gaming IMO means a lot, which isn't good. From what I read it will be released some time this quarter and also there is a brand new Pro Cycling Manager which looks like it will be out next week on the first of July. I could be wrong on the date (they vary from geographic region to region). The Pro Cycling manager will be a PC game of course (micro managing) but the console game looks like it's hands on. You control your riders movements on the road, descents, sprints, climbing and by the looks of it your actions affect team loyalty and their eagerness to ride for you.

Discuss if you want. Personally I don't think it will be anything to rave about but cycling is at least getting video games now. For those in Australia who want a cheap price, hit up play-asia.com and buy a region free Asia copy for your consoles. You'll save a fortune and they work.

cyanide have been making cycling games for nearly a decade - just because you havent heard about them, IMO means nothing.. because you dont know a lot about what you've just posted about.
PCM2011 is available already.
i've had most of the CM versions, including CM2011 which is quite good. the actual racing is quite complex yet very simple to control.
the PC version looks fantastic; you'll need a decent pc to run it though.
the PC has most of the season, classics and even track for a bit of a change.

the console however is only TDF, and you control 1 guy, rather than the whole team on the PC. i havent played the console, so i cant say if its any fun or not.

I have preordered even though I don't have any high expectiations. It's a difficult game to make isn't it. Konami tried in 2003 with a Tour De France game for ps2. It was absolutely rubbish. One of the worst games I have ever played. So, for me, it can only suprise since I've seen the worst of the worst.

As you can see - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FX9GgIbVAFM&feature=related. Horrible game.

But quotes from a developer of the game have been worrying though.
"I hope that people for once stay away from that negative attitude and just wait to play the game to give an opinion, im sure the game will surprise most of you and even if it is limited and there are a lot of things that could be improved, please remember that this is only the first edition of a new game."

- not the info you expect from a developer days before the release.

I'll give a short review of the game when it arrives Juni 30.

It would be nice if someone would come up with a version of this that hooked up to your trainer so that you could ride the trainer and play this.

no s#it...how great would that be? of course then they would have to market the 800 dollar trainer to go along with it...which would have about 49 cents of actual stuff on there to interact with the game...alas...but it would be nice...I mean if you can buy a wii ping pong paddle for 16 bucks...we should be able to have it in cycling...

The best cycling video game was GTA San Andreas.

There were of course bmx options (a bmx park to do tricks and challenegs) and an awesome 100m bunny hop which allowed you to do insanae stunts jumping from the ground to the sky scrapers, but from a road point of view there was also a mountain cycle race.

If you go to the top of Mount chilliad (achievable by plane-parachute, flying car cheat, motorbike, jetpack or bike, there is a bike located at the top.

If you go on the bike then you become part of this awesome downhill road race.

If you win 1 then there are 5 other routes down the mountain to complete.

Its quite difficult and you need to descend like Samu to win, but it is absolutely awesome.
