The route of Tour de Hongrie 2024 has been revealed!

Five stages, 851 kilometres, almost 8,000 metres of climbing, 10 categorised climbs, two bunch sprints and two iconic summit finishes await the participants of the 45th Tour de Hongrie. The official route of Hungary’s biggest cycling race was presented on 5 March at Budapest Music Center with live national TV coverage.

The provisional entry list is here!

97 Grand Tour stage wins, 21 world championships, 2 Olympic titles and 14 Hungarian riders on the provisional entry list of Tour de Hongrie 2024.

Although the teams can change their lineup until 7 May, it is always interesting to see which riders are planned to participate in the race. We can find 14 Grand Tour stage winners on the list: Mark Cavendish (54), Peter Sagan (18), Elia Viviani (9), Dylan Groenewegen (5), Dario Cataldo (2), Marc Hirschi, Alessandro Covi, Óscar Rodríguez, Luka Mezgec, Jordi Meeus, Cesare Benedetti, Michael Morkov, Valerio Conti and Kristian Sbaragli (1). Sagan and Cavendish are the first elite world road race champions ever to participate in our race. There are multiple track world champions in the peloton as well, including Cavendish, Morkov (Olympic champion as well), Viviani (Olympic champion as well), Ethan Hayter, Kelland O'Brien, Campbell Stewart and Cameron Scott.

The list of the best sprinters includes Cavendish, Groenewegen, Viviani, Arvid de Kleijn and Jordi Meeus. Reginging champion Marc Hirschi, 2021 Tour de Hongrie champion Damien Howson, Óscar Rodríguez, Yannis Voisard, Ethan Hayter and Sylvain Moniquet can be the biggest favourites in GC.

What is going on? I thought Sagan retired from the road and it appears he is back riding for a team with the unlikely name of Pierre Baguette Cycling. This sounds like some undercover operation dreamt up by the CIA to infiltrate Hungary. I will investigate this further. :confused_old:
He only retired from the WT/Pro Conti peloton, he singed for Pierre Baguette Cycling at the start of the season.
