cq has him at ST in 45th, so perhaps just a timing glitch and he'll still be in 5th on GC.

Well, that's it.I'm not surprised, they were side by side before entering corner and Sagan was in inner-ideal line.

"Haussler was later relegated for his actions in the intermediate sprint which gave Sagan the three-second bonus".

Yeah, just noticed that. Quality.

Cummings still in the top 10 too.

Oh, if only Dan would ride under his actual nationality ;)

Dan does ride under his "actual" nationality, he has a British father & an Irish mother, and since you Brits couldnt be bothered about him as a junior he decided to go with his mothers on his race licence( and passport). The Brits loss for being shortsighted :D (of course you want him back now). It reminds me of the 80's when British comentators refered to Kelly,Roche,Lemond & Anderson as "the english speaking riders"

like when Andy Murray wins he is a Brit but when he loses he is Scottish ;)

Dan's cycling pedigree would dictate it's due to his Irish blood :D

What I find funny is that a lot of great British sport athletes are born outside England.

Even Wiggins was born in Belgium.

Again I find the country ranking of the WT wack.. since only best 5 count, Poels 4th place has no impact at all (for the Netherlands).

Countries like Belgium, France, Spain and Italy are even more ****ed by that wack 'best 5' count. They could have gotten far more points

2012 Tour of Poland held during the Tour de France?

Organiser wants to change the date to avoid a clash with the Olympics

“We’ve asked the UCI if it’s possible to move the dates,” he said. “Because of the TV coverage, it's impossible to have the race at the same time as the Olympics.”

“There's no rivalry between our races. The Tour de France might even help the Tour of Poland to be known all around the world.” he said.

“The WorldTour teams have at least 25 riders and so have the capacity to race on two fronts. The Tour of Poland would be a great opportunity for the riders who usually have little chance to race during the Tour de France.”

Would be a shame for me as it would have been a nice distraction to the olympics :p

But from the organisers perspective it is a **** position that they are in. tbh I don't really like road cycling at the olympics. You have small national teams with a lot of average riders and it competely stuffs up the season. I couldn't care less about who is olympic champion.

Basically Tour of Poland organisers will have to choose having their event during the biggest annual cycling event or the olympics. **** position.

He was getting into shape before the Tour, not top yet in preparation, but getting there.

However in the Tour he got sick. What you see now is what his Tour form would have been.
Is he going to do the Vuelta? I could see him scoring me some CQ points in Canada.

Well, Tour de Pologne stages finish usually around 19:00, and Tour de France ~17:15, so that would be possible to watch both of them ;)

On polish site Lang said, that TdP will start in Italy "great" mountains for sure, and most probably next year, maybe in 2013 or 2014 (according to this its not gonna happen in 2012..), then one day break, everyone goes to Polish mountains, and it will be a "typicall mountain race". Sounds amazing to me.

With Tour de Pologne stages finishing so late so often it may even be a masterstroke, allowing the audience to switch over after the Tour stage and pick up a bit more racing, sure the level may be slightly lower but how many riders who played key roles in the Tour de Pologne rode the Tour de France? You'd likely get a pretty similar startlist anyway.

Maybe being in July means they can make it a bit tougher too, put an MTF at Szrenica, Horni Malá Úpa or something, or a circuit using the hills around Slupiec, or a finish in either Lądek-Zdrój or Złoty Stok after a climb of Jawornik Wielki in the last 10km.

And that's just in the Silesian mountains. Could have such a good race in the Czech-Slovak-Polish borderlands on the Carpathians.

And that's why we need the Peace Race back.

Dude, olympics are the pinnacle of any sports discipline.

Cycling included imo, only ridden once every 4 years, most cyclists have only 3 chances to win it. They should make it a jersey, white with the 5 rings on it. It would gain massive prestige :p
