Stage 1 Groenewegen 1st Jakobsen 21st
Stage 2 Jakobsen 1st Groenewegen 15th
Stage 4 Groenewegen 1st Jakobsen 115th
Stage 5 Jakobsen 1st Groenewegen 83rd
Coincidence? Or a "gentlemen's agreement" to not occupy the same zipcode within 200 meters of a finish line?
Stage 3 They finished 126th and 127th but still 4 seconds apart. (There were hills)

Must say this is one of the most intriguing conspiracy theories I've seen so far on the forum :p hard to imagine though that two sprinters would pass on potential victories just because they don't like each other (especially after such a long drought for both).

No. Watch the stage 1+2 finishes again.

How?

But, yeah... from what I understand, Jakobsen got boxed in on stage 1, and 15th (Groenewegen on stage 2) could very well be the result of someone who kinda tried to sprint, but just didn't... have it.

I'm pretty sure Jakobsen just survived the hills today and Groenewegen didn't.
And yesterday Groenewegen survived the hills and Jakobsen didn't? The two guys with the best lead out trains alternated getting boxed right out of the top 10 on the first 2 finishes, then seemed to have no trouble winning when the other wasn't there at all on the last 2 finishes? Maybe it is a coincidence after a crash which nearly cost one his life and the other a huge dent in his reputation, and cost each one an entire season, but if it was intentional it's probably a good idea.

I don't see how it even matters that much. If there is a gentlemens agreement I doubt it's gonna continue for long, unless you wanna be concerned and call it matchfixing.

Which are the discussions on this board that "matter"? I just thought it was an interesting possibility, not trying to make it into anything more.
