Finished my two week tour of the TDU. I recommend you arrive a week before the women's race which allows you to check out the race routes while at the same time you get to stop for an enjoyable lunch and wine tasting. I even managed to fit in a day of tennis at the Adelaide Open.

I basically followed the men and women's TDU by going to the start line and then driving to the finishing line. Got to the start line an hour before which allowed you to wonder around the team vehicles and chat to riders and take pics. At the same time there were rider interviews, the music was pumping and there was a great vibe. Then drove to the finish line ( never more than an one hr ) where you could chill out watch the race on the two large screens and enjoy lunch. Then at the finish of the race hang out around the team vehicles and watch the stage presentations. Finally, the TOUR VILLAGE outside the Hilton Hotel is a hive of activity with lots of events and a tech geeks paradise.

The future perhaps, TDF based on three locations, alps, pyrenees and ano each year, moves once a week on rest day!
