Cancellara really shut it off.
I imagine he was left behind and decided to think about the next race.

Edit: I guess he just answered my question (tweet)
"Had a bad day... Drop out from the 1.group dropt out 2.group and landet in the 3.group.... Can happen"

he got a flat tire when the pelyton was moving quite fast, he and chichi tried hard to catch up with the pelaton but they had no chance...

it was quite windy today, and there were a lot of different wee groups, not sure if there was anything you would call a peleton.

Is there a reason why you use three different ways (all of them wrong) to spell the word "peloton"?

to be fair to the contador thing in the tdf I think the problem was he attacked or continued his attack when wee schlecks chain fell off... here the peliton continued as they were.

But Boonen suffered a "mechanical" which according to that stupid etiquette means they need to wait on him. Personally, I'm glad that didn't play that stupid rule; racing is racing. You may have been the lead car for 23 hours of the 24 Hours of LeMans, but if you bust, "cie la vie". Same thing SHOULD go for bike racing.

To be fair though the Contador thing came when Schleck, not Contador attacked.

Unless Boonen was off the front trying to distance people, then they'd be more beholden to wait for him than Contador ever was to Schleck. And they didn't, and it hasn't started a Team Sky-in-the-Tour-of-Oman dirtstorm (where opinions were split) among the péloton.

yes, i dont care about either of the incidents, but i think that the contador incident(which i think is what the other fellow was talking about, maybe not though) was different from this one.

The only difference is that Qatar means nothing, while the Tour means everything. I can understand Schleck is angry, who wouldn't be? But is it unfair? No, it's just the way the cooky crumbles.

I thought Haussler didn't want to mingle in sprints anymore.

He might wanna change his mind now

That's just what he said so not to take anything away from their main sprinter, Farrar.

A form and alert Haussler is better, but Farrar is Garmin's man (for the TdF).

Plus there's probably some truth that he isn't as interested in sprints anymore, but if they can get a few easy wins in races like these... The team are probably hungry for wins wherever they can get them.
